Ramon Cardenas is set for his return home nearly 18 months after he registered the biggest win of his career.
The Ring’s No. 9 junior featherweight contender takes on another undefeated opponent in Bryan Acosta for his hometown headliner. Both fighters made weight for their scheduled 10-round main event—Cardenas (25-1, 14 KOs) came in right at the 122-pound limit, while Mexico’s Acosta (20-0, 8 KOs) was a career-lightest 121.2 pounds.
The bout takes place at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in Cardenas’ hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Acosta will make his U.S. debut in addition to traveling to his opponent’s backyard,
The last time Cardenas fought on local soil was Sept. 2023. He registered a stunning second-round blitzing of unbeaten Rafael Pedroza. The feat topped the last-ever installment of Showtime’s long-running ShoBox prospect-based series.
