Kabayel will face Nelson Hysa on November 28 to headline a Queensberry Promotions show in Dusseldorf, Germany on DAZN, talkSPORT reported on Monday.

Earlier this month, Kabayel's promoter Frank Warren said they were moving on from negotiations after Hysa turned down an offer, but that hurdle seems to have been cleared.

Kabayel (27-0, 19 KOs), The Ring's No. 2-rated contender, had been pondering his next move amid the logjam in the heavyweight division, and now he'll be rewarded with a second straight homecoming fight with hopes of landing an even more meaningful matchup in 2027.

But first, Kabayel must get past Hysa (25-0, 23 KOs), a 42-year-old Albanian who has 19 consecutive knockout victories. Hysa has also won six fights since the start of 2025. In his most recent contest in August, Hysa scored a second-round stoppage against Thomas Narmo on the undercard of Filip Hrgovic's dramatic win against Moses Itauma. Immediately after the fight, Hysa began beefing with Kabayel, who was sitting ringside.

Hysa's resume, however, pales in comparison to the opponents Kabayel has crushed, a group of contenders that include Zhilei Zhang, Frank Sanchez, Arslanbek Makhmudov, as well as Damian Knyba last time out in January.

Kabayel was elevated by the WBC from interim champion to full titleholder once The Ring champion Oleksandr Usyk vacated his WBC, WBA and WBO titles in June.

Hysa isn't currently ranked in the top 15 by the WBC, but that will likely change once the sanctioning body releases its updated rankings for October later this week.
