LAS VEGAS – Sebastian Fundora credits cooperative metabolism for continuing to comfortably make the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds.
The 6-foot-6 physical marvel managed to do so quite easily again Friday for his 12-round championship clash Saturday night at Mandalay Bay’s Michelob ULTRA Arena. Fundora officially weighed 152.8 pounds for his defenses of the WBC super welterweight and WBO junior middleweight championships against Chordale Booker.
It marked the second straight fight for which Fundora came in more than a pound below 154. He weighed slightly under 153 pounds for his fight last March 30 against Tim Tszyu, a bloody battle Fundora won by split decision at T-Mobile Arena.
Booker, of Stamford, Connecticut, stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at 152.6 pounds.
Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs), of Coachella, California, is listed by DraftKings as a 14-1 favorite to beat Booker, who has won six straight fights since Austin “Ammo” Williams stopped him in the first round of their April 2022 bout at Madison Square Garden. Booker is the WBO’s fifth-rated contender and is ranked 13th by the WBC.
Below are the official weights for the first two fights that will be streamed from Michelob ULTRA Arena on Saturday.
