Claressa Shields, the Ring women's heavyweight champion, remains his No. 1 fighter.
Whenever Caroline Dubois has a fight lined up, Shakur Stevenson runs to his TV screen.
That trend continued last weekend as Stevenson, the WBC lightweight beltholder, tuned in to watch Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) successfully defend her WBC lightweight title against Camilla Panatta on the Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua undercard.
Her power, precision, timing and speed left Stevenson in awe. He believes she’s reached a point where beating her will be impossible.
“I found my 2nd fav female fighter,” Stevenson, who'll be fighting Teofimo Lopez on Jan. 31 on DAZN, wrote on his X account. “I don’t think anybody beating her either. She's ready, line it up.”
After grabbing a wide points win, Dubois is hoping to eventually get in the ring with Alycia Baumgardner, the unified super featherweight champion who also successfully defended his belts in the same arena against Leila Beaudoin.
Stevenson would love to see it.
His newfound love for Dubois, however, won’t push Claressa Shields out of his mind as the No. 1 female fighter in the world.
“Of course Claressa the first but Caroline Dubois is one helluva fighter,” Stevenson wrote. “She will be hard to beat!!”
