The Ring’s No. 6-ranked welterweight made quick work of Kaine Fourie, stopping him in the second round at Zalgiris Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Stanionis (17-1, 10 KOs) has stopped both of his opponents since losing to Jaron Ennis in April 2025 and wants to fight someone who poses a significantly higher threat.

“I think a fight against someone like Alexis Rocha makes sense,” Stanionis told The Ring. “I would fight him next. Then after that, a title shot.”

Rocha, who’s ranked No. 9 by The Ring, has been victorious in 2026. The 29-year-old from Santa Ana, California, beat both Joseph Diaz and Jose Ramirez, two former world champions, this year.

Stanionis, a former WBA welterweight champion, lost his crown to Ennis via sixth-round stoppage when they fought in Atlantic City.

Fighting Rocha (27-2-1, 16 KOs) would represent a step-up in levels once again but Stanionis wants to get to world title opposition once again.

“Ryan Garcia got a big win recently against Conor Benn,” Stanionis said. “I always thought about how I would deal with his speed because my defense is tighter than others. A fight against Ryan would definitely be interesting. But Ryan isn’t the only champion in the division. I would fight any of them. Right now, my dream and goal is to get the title back.”

Garcia (26-2, 21 KOs), The Ring’s No. 2 147-pounder, defended his WBC title by stopping Benn in the second round on September 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
