Taylor Bevan has enjoyed a productive 16-month spell since making his professional debut in November 2024.
The 25-year-old Welshman has notched seven consecutive wins, all inside the distance against steadily improving opposition.
Bevan will be taking part in his third eight-rounder, when facing teak-tough Argentine boxer Martin Bulacio, on the George Liddard-Tyler Denny undercard at London's Copper Box Arena this Saturday.
"I'm expecting a tough durable opponent," Bevan told The Ring. "The type of fight which I sort of expect to go the distance but as long as I get the win and put on a performance, I'll be happy. If I can get him out of there, I obviously will, and that'll be a bonus.
"It's a great opportunity to get rounds in. I don't feel any pressure to go in, get the stoppage and keep the knockout streak going. This is a stepping stone. I'm going to go the distance at some point. It may come here or later on, the important thing for me is showing I'm progressing and developing in the gym."
His trainer Colin Jones, who fought three times for the welterweight title in the 1980s, believes this is the right time for a step up in opponent.
"It would be nice if he could get a few rounds under his belt," said Jones. "I think Eddie Hearn is upping the ante with the opponent. It will be tougher than what he's had but there's no reason Taylor shouldn't break him down the same way he's broken the last seven down. He's prepared, is in good shape and whatever comes, he'll deal with it."
Bevan believes he has developed a lot to this point and is keen to address it's not just what happens inside the ring that he's had to learn and improve upon.
"Everything that comes around [being a professional], the press conferences, the public weigh-ins," he explained. "The exposure that comes with pro boxing. You can become a professional boxer and don't realize you have to do public speaking and talk at these press conferences, that's a challenge in itself."
Jones, also the Welsh amateur team's head trainer, feels everything is moving in the right direction.
"He's looking more of a pro now than he did when he first turned [professional,]" Jones added. "We had to get that bit of amateur style out of him, not too much, and add a bit of the pro style to it. I think he's adjusted very well."
Appearing on the Liddard-Denny undercard, who contest the British and Commonwealth titles, exposes Bevan to what could be a little further down the road personally.
"Definitely, something I could see myself boxing for in the near future," he said. "I've done some sparring [with Liddard], so I've tested myself against that level although he's the weight below me and feel I'm not too far off."
He's gaining experience and feels there is more to learn from the Bulacio's of the world before chasing domestic titles.
"I'm going to take it one fight at a time," he stressed. "Get the win, keep improving in the gym and hopefully be out soon after this fight. Stay as active as I can because that's very important for a young professional’s career.
"I've taken a big crowd to every show I've boxed on, so thank you to everyone who has been supporting me. There's lots more to come."
Bulacio (15-10, 10 KOs) has been a professional for nearly a decade. He suffered defeats at home to Gonzalo Coria (TKO 8) and Amilcar Vidal (TKO 8/ UD 10).
The 36-year-old breathed new life into his career when scoring an upset seventh-round stoppage of Serhat Guler before reverting to gatekeeper status against Luka Plantic (UD10), Arlen Lopez (UD10) and Kevin Lele Sadjo (RTD 4).
