In November of 2024, Tevin Farmer ran around the ring as happy as ever. His mouth was agape and his hands were in the air. Following 12 hard rounds, he was completely convinced that he took William Zepeda’s undefeated record. A few moments later, however, he realized that he didn’t.

It was no sweat though. Farmer didn’t get the original decision he was looking for but Team Zepeda granted him an immediate decision, something that took place this past weekend.

Outside of Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) scoring a knockdown like he did in the first fight, their second fight was incredibly similar. In the end, so was the final result.

With another close loss to Zepeda (33-0, 27 KOs) on his record, Farmer knows he won’t get a third crack at him. But, he isn’t annoyed by it. As he replays their showdown over and over again in his head, he knows he did enough.

“Zepeda did not beat me,” said Farmer on his social media account. “The judges did.”

Zepeda, 28, has a few things to figure out. He’s ranked number one in the WBC and Shakur Stevenson, their current titleholder, has been waiting for him. Farmer, on the other hand, has some soul-searching to do.

He won’t walk away from the sport but he knows time isn’t on his side. If he wants a shot at any of the divisions champions, he’ll need to string together a few victories. At the very least, he’ll need to grab at least one to stop the bleeding.

In the coming months, he’ll figure out his next move. But whomever he chooses to fight, he’s hoping that the three judges who will be scoring his future fights, will treat him with a bit more respect and courtesy.
