The winner will move closer to a world title shot, while the loser faces a long road back into contention.

The fight is a make-or-break clash between two men who can look like word-beaters when they box to their strengths but much more vulnerable when they allow themselves to get distracted from their gameplan.

Colins (17-1-1, 8 KOs) will make the trip south hoping to rebound from the disappointment of losing a WBC final eliminator to Cristobel Lorente in April. When he finds his groove, Collins is an elusive southpaw with outstanding reflexes and a deep gas tank. He also loves a fight. His problems arise when he gives into temptation and spends too long holding his feet.

The 30-year-old Scotsman is a career featherweight who seemed on track for a world title shot until he ran into Lorente, who also held him to an exciting draw in October 2025.

Collins and Davies do have a common opponent in Francesco Grandelli, who broke the former's nose with a stray elbow en route to a decision defeat in May 2024. In March, Davies (18-1, 9 KOs) did a far cleaner job of dismantling the Italian, stopping him in six rounds.

The fight was the 30-year-old’s second since he stepped up to the featherweight division after a belt-laden run at 122 pounds. That part of his career came to a disappointing end in November 2024 when he forgot his tactics and spent 12 rounds chasing Shabaz Masoud.

Getting his wiry frame down to junior bantamweight had become harder for Davies and moving up to 126 pounds seems to have revitalized him physically and mentally. At his best, Davies is an accurate puncher with the size to keep opponents at arm's length and the type of power that is crucial at the highest level. He will be determined not to repeat the mistakes he made against Masoud.

Collins is ranked at No. 4 by the WBC. Davies sits at No. 8.

Liam Davies: “I'm 30 now. I’ve been European champion for so many years at two different weights. I'm down to fight anyone and feel like I'm a problem at this weight. I found my weight class and built into it good. I’m hungry, on the verge of world titles and they could have said any name honestly.”

Nathaniel Collins: “It's a great fight. We're both kind of on that fringe world level so it's going to be an exciting one.

“I’m happy because people are probably going to think I fell off and I'm done now based on the last performance but I think the people that know me know that that wasn't me, and that wasn't a great performance for me so it's good. I think they'll be overlooking me.”

Bet365 have made Davies a short 1/3 (-300) favourite to retain his title. Collins is priced at 12/5 (+240).

Lewis Richardson (2-0) has endured a painfully slow start to life as a professional after winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The middleweight has recovered from the biceps tendon injury that has kept him on the sidelines since August 2025.

Richardson is now 29 years old and doesn’t have time to waste. The southpaw will be hoping to get past Igor Trofimovic (1-3-1, 1 KO) in no-nonsense fashion so he can get on with his career.

Elsewhere on the bill, Nathan Heaney rematches Gerome Warburton in his final fight before retirement.
