It's been a busy two weeks for boxing and as a result, there are changes to the pound-for-pound list and SEVEN divisions in The Ring's latest ratings release.
On January 31, Shakur Stevenson further cemented himself as one of the sport's elite fighters with near-shutout win over Teofimo Lopez in the main event of "The Ring 6" at Madison Square Garden. Stevenson became a four-division champion and won The Ring's 140-pound title.
Elsewhere on the card, Bruce Carrington picked up the WBC featherweight title by knocking out Carlos Castro and Keyshawn Davis made his return to the sport, stopping Jamaine Ortiz in his junior welterweight debut.
The night was a busy one as there was also action in the UK, Puerto Rico and Denmark. First, Josh Kelly caused an upset by beating Bakhram Murtazaliev on points to win the IBF junior middleweight title. Then, Xander Zayas unified the WBA and WBO titles from the same division by outpointing Abass Baraou. Also, Jacob Bank stopped former IBF super middleweight champion William Scull in the 12th round of their clash.
Finally, there was another big shake-up in the 126-pound division this past weekend as WBA titleholder Nick Ball was brutally TKO'd in the final round by Brandon Figueroa, who became a three-time world champion with his heroics in Liverpool.
Scroll down to read the alterations.
