The Ring launched the inaugural fight card of its new series "The Underdog" tonight live from Fontainebleau Las Vegas’ BleauLive Theater.
Anthony Olascuaga, the WBO flyweight champion, successfully defended his title with a second-round stoppage win over Juan Carlos Camacho in the main event, but before that, came a four-fight undercard for fans to feast their eyes on.
All the action was streamed live on DAZN, with the series to continue monthly from January 2026.
Relive the action with the undercard results below...
Viloria cruises past Ortiz in co-main
Junior lightweight prospect Justin Viloria scored a shutout unanimous decision against Joshafat Ortiz in the evening's co-main event.
Viloria (10-0, 7 KOs), a touted 21-year-old southpaw, consistently cut off the ring and relied on a dedicated body attack to outlast Ortiz (13-2, 6 KOs) by scores of 80-72 across the board.
Ortiz was competitive as a counterpuncher, but Viloria still comfortably controlled the contest in the second scheduled eight-rounder of his 2 ½ year career.
Viloria suffered a questionable knockdown in the first that was overruled by instant replay after footage showed Ortiz pushed Viloria down.
Viloria fought past the seventh round for the first time in his career.
Hackett back with third-round finish
Jalil Hackett returned to the ring for the first time since suffering his first career loss in December and a freak ankle injury in the sauna a day before his March rematch against Jose Roman Vazquez to score a statement third-round stoppage win against Ellijah Vines.
The clash came with some pre-fight controversy, however, as Hackett (10-1, 8 KOs) made his planned 154-pound debut at a 157-pound catchweight, while Vines (8-1, 7 KOs) weighed in at 153 ½ pounds and insisted the fight was contracted at 154 pounds.
Realizing Hackett might have had a rough weight cut, Vines targeted the body early but paid for his overaggression in the second when Hackett knocked down Vines with a left hook.
Vines got up, showed tremendous courage and caught Hackett in between the onslaught to survive the round as referee Thomas Talyor looked on closely.
Fifteen seconds into the third, Hackett finished the show in style with a winding uppercut, dropping Vines again. Vines got up, but Taylor didn’t like the way he was responding and waved off the fight at the 33-second mark of the round.
“They just wrote me off after my last fight and said I’m going to be working at Walmart, but I never gave up on myself,” said an emotional Hackett, a 22-year-old formerly tied to Mayweather Promotions and now with Matchroom Boxing.
“We’re looking to take over 154 pounds. I want everything at 154.”
Teenage talent Alvarado stays perfect
Emiliano Alvarado versus Juan Garcia was a battle between unbeaten junior featherweight prospects, and Alvarado maintained his pristine record by scoring a majority decision.
After a fiery first round, the Robert Garcia-coached Alvarado (9-0, 5 KOs), an 18-year-old from Southern California, separated himself as the more active and precise puncher.
Garcia (7-1, 2 KOs) had moments of success, but not enough to garner the attention of the judges, who scored it for Alvarado, although unevenly, by scores of 60-54, 58-56, 57-57.
Talley taken full six by Hollaway
Cruiserweight prospect Jamar Talley continues clicking on all cylinders for his promising career. Talley turned pro in February and picked up the fourth win of his career on Thursday night by fighting past the second round for the first time, beating Anthony Hollaway by a six-round unanimous decision.
The matchup featured spurts of action, but Talley (4-0, 3 KOs) did enough to land the decision and some much-needed rounds, as he heard the final bell for the first time as a pro against rugged journeyman Hollaway (9-9-3, 7 KOs).
Judges scored the fight in favor of Talley by scores of 60-54, 60-54, 59-55.
Talley is a 25-year-old from Camden, New Jersey coached by Brian “BoMac” McIntyre.
