Turki Alalshikh has confirmed the undisputed super middleweight title clash between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Terence Crawford in September will be promoted by Sela for Riyadh Season.
Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that September's The Ring and undisputed super middleweight title clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will be promoted by Sela for Riyadh Season.
The mega-fight, in which Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will jump two weight classes from junior middleweight to the 168-pound limit to challenge Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs), also will take place Sept. 13, a day later than originally planned.
The broadcaster and the venue for Canelo vs. Crawford are yet to be decided upon.
Alalshikh wrote on X: "We have confirmed the promoter for Canelo vs. Crawford will be Sela for Riyadh Season. The broadcaster we have not decided yet but the date will be Saturday 13th September. More details soon."
Originally, Alvarez vs. Crawford was going to be promoted by Alalshikh and Dana White's TKO Boxing.
However, the fight between the Mexican icon and Crawford, of Omaha, Nebraska, is set to headline what will be the fourth Riyadh Season event outside of Saudi Arabia.
The first took place in August 2024 when Crawford picked up the WBA 154-pound title with a unanimous decision victory over Israil Madrimov in Los Angeles at BMO Stadium.
The second occurred a month later when Daniel Dubois stopped Anthony Joshua in five rounds to retain his IBF heavyweight championship at London's Wembley Stadium. And the third will take place this summer on July 19 when Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk clash for The Ring and undisputed heavyweight titles at the same 90,000-seater venue.
Las Vegas' 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium was set to host Alvarez vs. Crawford, but there are now three cities in the running to hold what will be the biggest fight of 2025.
The Ring revealed earlier this week that Vegas, Los Angeles and New York City were all potential host candidates.
Regarding a broadcaster, the fight will be shown live on PPV and not on Netflix.
