Tyson Fury appears to be all systems go to grace the squared circle once again.
The former heavyweight champion announced yet another retirement in January shortly after suffering his second consecutive unanimous decision defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December.
But "The Gypsy King" Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) just can't seem to officially call it quits, and the 37-year-old will lace up the gloves once more in 2026.
“I spoke to him last week. He said that he's going to come back and fight next year. He wants to do it,” Fury's longtime promoter Frank Warren told DAZN.
“He's had a very busy year this year. He's obviously not had a fight this year, but as we've all seen, he's had his documentary. He's been filming with Netflix for his 'At Home with the Furys' series.
“He's also got another documentary that he's finishing off, plus other things he wants. I mean, he's told me categorically he wants to fight next year. So, we'll sit down and see.”
The most desirable option for Fury is a highly lucrative fight against fellow Brit and former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), who turns 36 next week, has been idle since September of last year after he suffered a fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois.
Fury and Joshua have both stated in recent months that they want to make sure they realize a fight that is more than a half-decade in the making, before they both officially retire.
Last week, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn revealed he held positive talks with head of Riyadh Season Turki Alalshikh over a potential Fury-AJ bout.
“[Alalshikh] wants to make AJ against Fury, that’s no secret,” Hearn said. “He wants to make the biggest fights in the sport and that is the biggest fight in boxing right now. We’ve got to agree our end and then it’s up to Turki whether he can get Fury in the ring.”
