WBC Boxing Grand Prix: Phase 3 Results From Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Undefeated featherweights Yoni Valverde, Muhamet Qamili and Brandon Mejia were among the boxers who advanced Wednesday during Phase 3 of the WBC Boxing Grand Prix in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
A field of 128 fighters is now down to 16 in the WBC Grand Prix.
Phase 3 of the tournament took place Wednesday, with 64 fighters competing across the featherweight, junior welterweight, middleweight and heavyweight divisions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winners of each fight advance to Phase 4, which is the semifinals that will take place in October.
Each fight is six three-minute rounds. Fights cannot end in a draw, and the bouts are scored on a qualitative scoring system if a fight is even at the end.

Heavyweight
Keaton Gomes (13-3, 11 KOs) def. Devon Young (9-1, 7 KOs) by TKO1
Kevin Ramirez (10-0-2, 4 KOs) def. Piotr Lacz (14-0-1, 10 KOs) by decision* — scoring had to go to the WBC after the three official judges and the enhanced scoring system had it a split draw.
Ahmed Krnjic (6-0, 4 KOs) def. Tsotne Rogava (12-1, 8 KOs) by MD6 (57-57, 58-56, 58-56)
