MONTREAL - Reigning NABF junior welterweight titlist Arthur Biyarslanov and his challenger Mohamed Mimoune both comfortably made weight this afternoon at the Montreal Casino, Montreal, ahead of tomorrow's main event.
Biyarslanov tipped the scales at 139.7, while his challenger Mimoune was comfortably inside the weight limit of 140-pounds, coming in at 138.7.
ESPN+ will broadcast the Eye of The Tiger promotions beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET/ 3:30 p.m. PT and punchinggrace will show the card in Canada.
Biyarslanov (17-0, 14 knockouts), who will be having his fifth fight in 11-months, claimed the NABF title last June and has been active defending the title. He beat Elias Mauricio Haedo (KO 4) for the vacant belt. He has subsequently taken the scalps of previously unbeaten Tamas Kiliti (TKO 4) and teak-tough Jonathan Eniz (UD 10). This promises to be a much stiffer test for the 29-year-old Canadian resident.
Mimoune (24-6, 5 KOs) turned professional since 2010. The French southpaw won his first 10 fights before dropping two fights to Kamal Mohamed (PTS 8) and Alexandre Lepelley (SD 8) at welterweight in 2013. He exacted revenge over Mohamed (UD 10) to win the national title. During an impressive run, he upset Sam Eggington (SD 12) in the UK to sneer the European title.
However, the now 37-year-old saw his 10 fight win streak napped by former world champion Viktor Postol (UD 12) in a WBC junior welterweight title eliminator. Since then, his form has been patchy, going 3-3 but against good competition. He lost to Tyrone McKenna (UD 12) but is coming off an impressive fifth round stoppage in their rematch, in his most recent fight.
Below are the weights for the remaining undercard bouts:
Bakhodir Jalalov (14-0, 14 KOs), Sariosiyo, Uzbekistan, 254 pounds vs. David Spilmont (16-8-1, 11 KOs), Fourmies, France, 262 pounds - 10 rounds, heavyweight
Albert Ramirez (19-0, 16 KOs), El Vigia, Venezuela, 174.3 pounds vs. Marko Calic (15-1, 9 KOs), Marcana, Croatia, 174.8 pounds - 10 rounds, light heavyweight
Mehmet Unal (11-0, 9 KOs), Montreal, via Adana, Turkiye, 177.5 pounds vs. Ezequiel Maderna (31-13, 21 KOs), Buenos Aires, Argentina, 177.6 pounds - 10 rounds, light heavyweight
Christopher Guerrero (12-0, 7 KOs), Montreal, 146.5 pounds vs. Dennis Dauto (25-5-2, 9 KOs), Zurich, Switzerland, 146.7 pounds - 10 rounds, welterweight
Moreno Fendero (8-0, 6 KOs), Montreal, via Besançon, France 167.4 pounds vs. Edison Demaj (13-3-1, 7 KOs), Hamburg, Germany, 170.9 pounds - 8 rounds, super middleweight
Avery Martin Duval (12-0-1, 7 KOs), Hawkesbury, Canada, 134.2 pounds vs. Keshan Jacoby Koaly (6-1-1, 2 KOs), Nice, France, 133.8 pounds - 8 rounds,
