White strikes back, hints he'll be lead promoter for Fury-AJ megafight

Dana White has claimed that he was responsible for negotiating the contracts for the megafight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua and suggested that fellow promoter Eddie Hearn does not even know where the fight will take place.
Fury and Joshua, the two leading British heavyweights of the era, are finally on a collision course for late 2026 providing they come through their summer warmup fights.
There has been no official announcement on date or location for the long-awaited Battle of Britain but both have signed contracts.
There has been, however, some dispute over who will be the lead promoter for the event. White says he will be promoting while Hearn (Joshua’s longtime promoter), Frank Warren (Fury’s promoter) and Spencer Brown (Fury’s manage) have all suggested that won’t be the case.
But in the press conference following Zuffa Boxing’s first UK show, headlined by Chris Billam-Smith’s victory over Ryan Rozicki in Bournemouth, White responded to those claims.
“Have they announced where that fight is?" he said. "I know where it is. Watch what happens over the next 30 days.”
When asked directly about the contract supposedly stating that he will not be involved, White said: “Do you think that I would publicly lie and then look like an f***ing idiot in front of everybody? What would be the point of that?”
“Call Eddie right now and ask him where the fight is. Call Eddie and ask who negotiated the contract for the fight. It wasn’t him.”
Joshua is scheduled to fight Kristian Prenga in Jeddah on July 25 while Fury is reportedly set to fight in early August.
Joshua has not boxed since his victory over Jake Paul in December while Fury returned from his most recent retirement in April when he outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
