Iglesias won't say no, regardless of which fighter agree to face him for the vacant IBF belt.
When Terence Crawford retired his Ring and undisputed super middleweight titles became vacant, which in turn has opened various opportunities for others in the division.
After getting confirmation the IBF reached out to its two highest-rated 168-pounders, Osleys Iglesias and Canelo Alvarez, to see if there was any appetite to fill the vacancy in a December 29 letter.
Both parties had three days to notify of their intentions. Iglesias promptly accepted and as expected Alvarez declared himself unavailable due to elbow surgery.
"We worked very hard to get Iglesias into the No. 1 position," Eye of The Tiger President Camille Estephan told The Ring. "I think he's very deserving of, he fought [Vladimir] Shishkin [in an eliminator] and beat him soundly.
"We are hoping the IBF responds quickly and sends a letter to the next available contender, which happens to be [Jaime] Munguia, we'll see what he says."
The No. 5 is Callum Simpson, who was upset by Troy Williamson on December 20, and is followed by No. 6 Hamzah Sheeraz, who finds himself with a plethora of options including Christian Mbilli for the vacant WBC title or Diego Pacheco for the vacant WBO title.
"We want to know who will take the fight. He's the boogeyman," Estephan said of Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs).
"It seems to me that the IBF understands this is a process that should be expedited. We'd like to get Osleys in the ring fighting as fast as possible. They gave three days to Canelo, they got the answer. Hopefully another letter will come out for Munguia."
However, Estephan says his fighter isn't concerned with who will be in the opposite corner.
"What I can tell you is Osleys is willing to fight anyone, there is no exceptions," he said. "Any name he is willing to fight. He is very happy to fight for the IBF world title."
