

Xander Zayas vs. Jaron Ennis live results: Latest updates from Brooklyn

The moment of truth has arrived for Xander Zayas and Jaron "Boots" Ennis.
Zayas will defend his WBA and WBO 154-pound titles against Ennis on DAZN PPV and as part of the DAZN Ultimate Plan. The PPV portion of the card begins at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs), The Ring’s No. 3 junior middleweight, became boxing’s youngest current unified champion when he outpointed Abass Baraou for his WBA title on Jan. 31 in Puerto Rico. Ennis (35-0, 31 KOs), The Ring’s No. 5 junior middleweight, was the unified welterweight champion before moving up to 154 pounds and beating Uisma Lima by first-round stoppage in October.

VARGAS-MILLS
Vargas, who was The Ring’s 2025 Prospect of the Year, has gone rounds in his last two fights. The 23-year-old from Oxnard, California, outpointed Jonathan Montrel in a 10-round fight in November, while he went nine rounds against Agustin Quintana before the fight was stopped before the start of the 10th round in February.
Mills, of Syracuse, New York, has won 16 straight fights, though, the level of opposition pales in comparison to Vargas. Mills, 24, last fought in April, stopping Julio Rosa after three rounds.
WHITTAKER DEF. RIVERA BY 2ND-ROUND TKO
Whittaker's U.S. debut didn't last long, as he stopped Rivera early in the second round.
After dropping Rivera at the very end of the first round, Whittaker sent him to the canvas early in the second round and the fight was stopped, though, Rivera appeared able to continue. Regardless, an impressive performance by Whittaker, who hasn't gone beyond the second round in his last four fights.
His promoter, Eddie Hearn, said that Whittaker will headline in his next fight in Birmingham in October on DAZN.
Round 2
Rivera throws a leaping left hook and gets dropped by a counter left hook from Whittaker. Rivera rises to his feet and goes to a corner, but after referee Michael Griffin asks if he's OK, he stops the fight.
Round 1
Whittaker is on the front foot early and has landed a couple of good left hooks to the body. The Brit's speed advantage is evident early on, as he can land and avoid Rivera's offense.
Whittaker drops Rivera with a right hand late in the round. Rivera rises to his feet and appears to have his legs under him as the round ends.
ENNIS ARRIVES IN BROOKLYN
"Boots" Ennis is at the arena as he seeks to become a unified champion in a second division.
TUCKER DEF. CEDENO BY MAJORITY DECISION
Tucker (17-1-1, 7 KOs) beat Cedeno (14-1-1, 12 KOs) by majority decision to earn the biggest win of his career. The judges had it 98-92, 97-93 and 95-95.
After a hot start from Cedeno, Tucker settled in and outboxed him from the fifth round on.

Round 10
Shades of WWE as Tucker ducks underneath a shot of Cedeno and lifts him off his feet. Tucker nearly throws him over the ropes, but thinks better of it and lets him down inside the ring.
Cedeno is back on the front foot and having some success with his jab. Tucker is on the front foot now as Cedeno moves around the ring. Tucker has success landing uppercuts through Cedeno's guard with his back to the ropes, but neither fighter left their stamp in the final round as the final bell rings.
Round 9
Cedeno continues to follow Tucker around and throw big shots, but he can't find the target.
Tucker's faster hands and footwork allowed him to take control of the round in the final minute. He's on the front foot now and pushed Cedeno to the ropes at the end of the round.
Cedeno likely needs a knockout to win.
Round 8
Lather, rinse, repeat for Tucker. He's fully in control of the fight entering the final two rounds.
Cedeno's corner is imploring him to step it up and throw straight shots to try and regain control of the fight.
Round 7
The tide has turned in Tucker's favor as he continues to outbox Cedeno. Cedeno is winging shots but is struggling to find the target.
Tucker is in control entering the final three rounds.
Round 6
Tucker is starting to settle into a groove. He landed the cleaner shots and had success punching through Cedeno's guard.
Cedeno is having trouble finding the target and landing the caliber of shots that helped him get off to a good start.
Round 5
The pace has settled down a bit. Tucker did some of his best work since the opening round, as he was able to avoid most of Cedeno's power shots.
Tucker was able to stick and move effectively and was against the ropes much less compared to the previous rounds.
Round 4
Cedeno continues to dig at Tucker's body. Tucker is apt to fight off of his back foot and stay on the move.
The pace slowed a little, but it was more of the same with Cedeno continuing to press and land the cleaner shots. Tucker sparingly had his moments when he was able to land and step around Cedeno, but he hasn't found the same success that he had in the opening round.
Round 3
It's more of the same for Cedeno, who is landing clean shots to the body. Tucker is still having success punching through Cedeno's guard, though, his punches aren't having the same impact.
Cedeno is landing clean shots with Tucker against the ropes but the Brooklyn native fires back in the latter half of the round. Cedeno continues to force the action and landed some really good body shots in what was another good round for him.
Round 2
Cedeno is more aggressive to start the round and got Tucker to the ropes. A much better start for the Dominican, who is pressing the action and landing some clean shots.
Tucker was on the move more and less active with his output, though, he's landed some nice body shots. Cedeno had a much better round and started to find his groove.
Round 1
Tucker came out firing and is landing clean shots through Cedeno's guard. The action settled down, as Cedeno, who is fighting out of southpaw, went on the front foot.
Late in the round, Cedeno landed a low blow, and Tucker followed up with an even lower shot. Overall, a good start for Tucker.
ZAYAS ARRIVES AT BARCLAYS
Zayas is at Barclays Center for his first defense as a unified junior middleweight champion.
