But while he was on his way to A&E, fellow British heavyweight Dillian Whyte confirmed a willingness to return for a fight against the “Romford Bull”.

Whyte (31-4, 21 KOs) has not boxed since he was blitzed inside two minutes by Moses Itauma in Riyadh 13 months ago but there are rumors of an imminent deal with Zuffa and potential clash with Fisher (15-1, 12 KOs).

“Let’s see,” the 38-year-old Whyte told Sky Sports when asked about his next steps.

“But I’d fight Johnny Fisher and I’d knock him out. This dog might be old but I’ve still got all my teeth, and some of them are metal.”

Given his trip for a check-up, Fisher was not available for the customary post-fight press conference at Copper Box but promoter Dana White did field questions on the Brit’s future.

“It was obviously a dominant performance,” said White of Fisher’s majority decision victory after 10 rounds.

“He got tired in the last three rounds but yeah, a dominant performance. He looked exhausted afterwards, I haven’t seen him or talked to him but he looked OK.”

When asked whether Whyte may feature in his plans for Fisher, the Zuffa Boxing head added: “He has only just finished this fight so I don’t have any specific plans for him right now other than we want to bring him back to the UK.

“Provided he’s 100 per cent healthy, we will look to turn him around and come back here quick.”

In the early hours of Sunday morning, 27-year-old Fisher uploaded a video to social media after returning to his fight hotel.

“Right, back at the hotel after a hard victory tonight,” he said. “I really pushed the boat out but I told you I’d do that and that I’d leave it all in the ring.

“We’ve had our checks at the hospital and everything is good. What a win. A shout out to Michael Pirotton and thank you to Zuffa. The Bull Army marches on.”

This was Fisher’s first fight under the Zuffa banner after spending the first 15 outings of his career with Matchroom. The victory in east London was also his first at Copper Box since his crushing fifth-round defeat to Dave Allen in May last year.

But now, following his December win over Ivan Balaz and this victory against Belgian Pirotton (12-3, 6 KOs), Fisher’s career is firmly back on track.
