IBF super middleweight champion Osleys Iglesias will be among the most interested observers Saturday night for a marquee matchup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Canelo Alvarez will mark his long-awaited return to action when challenging Christian Mbilli in the Frenchman's maiden WBC 168-pound title defense. Their super middleweight clash will headline a DAZN PPV show worldwide.
Iglesias (16-0, 15 KOs) is arguably the most feared man at 168 pounds.
The 28-year-old Cuban made a successful maiden defense of his IBF world ttile, scoring a seventh-round stoppage of previously-unbeaten challenger Oliver Zaren on October 8.
Iglesias, The Ring's No. 2-rated super middleweight, finds himself sandwiched between Saturday's combatants. Canelo sits No. 1, while Mbilli is No. 3 and both enter their eagerly-anticipated bout after a year-long absence.
Devin Haney, Hamzah Sheeraz and Edgar Berlanga all believe Canelo will win well. Like divisional contender Diego Pacheco though, Iglesias feels there's no clear favorite at this stage of their respective careers.
"I think the fight is 50/50, Canelo has a lot of experience and he can dominate the fight," Iglesias told The Ring.
"On the other hand though, Mbilli is very aggressive and hungry to come out on top."
Iglesias concedes he's not as good with predictions as he is with fighting. Although unsure who wins, he knows who he'd prefer.
"Hopefully Canelo wins, it will be the most interesting outcome for the division. Whoever wins though, I want to fight him. For me, it doesn't really matter. God willing, the winner will face me. I'm ready, that great opportunity will come and from there I will win that fight."
