The bad blood between Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn and Conor Benn continues to boil.
Benn shocked the boxing world and career-long promoter Hearn in February by signing with the fledgling upstart Zuffa Boxing.
Hearn was devastated by the gutshot, and the pair have been going back and forth at each other ever since.
Hearn has been more vocal about his displeasure, going as far as revealing details about loaning Benn money.
Benn has been mostly quiet in recent weeks. His manager, Keith Connolly, however, recently said Hearn was offered a special advisor role, but the British promoter turned down the opportunity to continue working within the team.
“I don't even want to listen to that load of s--- offering me a role as a special advisor. Take that special advisor and stick it up your f------ slimy ass – that's what I think,” Hearn told Pro Boxing Fans.
“What he did was, Conor Benn, in an email through his lawyer, offered me $250,000 to keep my mouth shut and not say anything negative, basically, about us – f--- off!”
It’s safe to assume Hearn and Benn won’t be sharing a Christmas meal during the holidays as their beef continues to roast.
Benn (25-1, 14 KOs) made his Zuffa Boxing debut on April 11 and bested Regis Prograis by unanimous decision. Benn reportedly earned nearly $15 million for the one-fight deal and signed a new multi-fight contract with Zuffa less than a week after getting past Prograis.
Benn, a 29-year-old second-generation star from Essex, England, now appears headed toward a September 12 showdown against Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas.
