Early on Kadima (9-0, 7 KOs) moved Matovu (9-2, 8 KOs) into the neutral corner and threw a left hand that landed flush and snapped the Ugandan's head back.

Before he could regroup, the 29-year-old pounced and unleashed a barrage to knock him out cold after 36 seconds.

"The plan was to work with my jab, the jab is going to open everything, so I'm happy," Kadima said post-fight.

"This is a big thing, for my country also. I promise my next fight is going to be more."

With the win, Kadima collects a WBC regional title and the hope within his camp is to start navigating him further up the rankings. An excellent start, tougher tests will nonetheless follow and potentially not very far either.

That's because in the evening's co-feature, experienced battler Jack Mulowayi stopped Juan Alberts on a cut in round six of their scheduled 10-round contest.

Mulowayi (17-4-1, 13 KOs), who previously went 10 rounds with The Ring's No. 7 heavyweight Frank Sanchez and had only been stopped by Bakhodir Jalolov (TKO8), started well before Alberts (8-1-1, 5 KOs) got the visitor's attention with a nice right cross late in the opening frame.

Mulowayi's experience held him in good stead and he rocked the South African, sending him into the ropes late in round three. A fight-deciding moment came when Alberts was cut in the fourth.

He fought hard and let his hands go in the fifth, but Mulowayi fired back and had the better of their exchanges. The cut worsened and referee Thabo Spampool decided he had seen enough. Although Alberts' chin was holding up, his face wasn't.

In featherweight action, Prichard Dube scored an upset of touted prospect Sanele Sogcwa with a six-round majority decision.

Although Songcwa (5-1, 2 KOs) had the silky smooth skills, Dube (2-3-1, 1 KO) wouldn't be denied and pressed the action throughout. Two judges favored his work - 58-55 and 57-56 - while the other ringside official couldn't separate them scoring it 56-56.

Elsewhere, female junior featherweight Monica Mkandla dominated Simamkele Tuntsheni before closing the show in the final frame of their six-round contest.

Mkandla (10-0, 2 KOs) dropped Tuntsheni (8-2, 3 KOs) in the penultimate round and almost got the stoppage, before finding it at 1:59 of their 122-pound bout.

Teenage heavyweight Ethan Peters (3-0, 3 KOs) continued his rise with a second-round knockout against debutant Andre Bruwer after Andre Mulumba (3-0, 1 KO) opened the show with a third-round stoppage of Pieter Breytenbech (1-2, 1 KO) at light heavyweight.
