Eddie Hearn said that Conah Walker, who’s ranked No. 7 by the IBF and No. 3 by the WBA at 147 pounds, is being discussed as a possible opponent for The Ring’s 5th-ranked welterweight.

If that fight gets made, Hearn, Walker’s promoter, admits it’ll be a difficult assignment.

“That is a fight that we are discussing with Top Rank,” Hearn told The Ring. “It’s not done, not signed, but if Conor Walker fights Brian Norman, that is a tough, tough fight. But Conor Walker wants quite a lot of money because he keeps winning. To fight for that type of money, now you’ve got to be an underdog in a fight.”

Over the last few months, Norman (29-1, 23 KOs) has called out all of the big names, including Keyshawn Davis, Richardson Hitchins and WBC beltholder Ryan Garcia.

The 25-year-old from Decatur, Georgia, stopped Josh Wagner in the second round on May 16. It was his first win since losing his WBO welterweight title via unanimous decision to Devin Haney in November 2025.

Walker, 31, has gotten into a groove, reeling off five consecutive victories, four by stoppage, since losing on points to Lewis Crocker in June 2024.

At some point, Walker (18-3-1, 9 KOs) wants to fight for a world title. But if he wants to expedite that process, Hearn believes a win over Norman could do just that.

“If you beat Brian Norman, now you’re walking into a world title fight,” he said. “It’s a fantastic fight but not made yet.”
