The 34-year-old Hrgovic (21-1, 16 KOs) is currently plotting his next move after his stunning ninth-round stoppage of Moses Itauma at London’s O2 Arena on August 29.

Hrgovic, who moved up to No. 4 in The Ring’s heavyweight rankings as a result of the victory, has a contractual obligation to face mandatory challenger Frank Sanchez in his first defense. The Cuban, The Ring’s No. 6 contender, was handsomely paid to step aside and allow Hrgovic to face Itauma for the belt originally.

But Hrgovic says his clash with Sanchez is not yet set in stone and could be the subject of another step-aside deal for the right price.

“Man, in boxing, anything is possible,” Hrgovic told a media roundtable on Wednesday. “He’s mandatory but if he needs to make another step aside, if financially we agreed, I think we are open to do whatever we want. We will see, at this moment we don’t know. My ultimate goal is to unify.”

However, any plans to face the division’s other champions could be put on ice after Hrgovic’s name appeared on a list of dream fights compiled by Turki Alalshikh, as reported by The Ring’s Mike Coppinger.

Alalshikh is hoping to match Hrgovic with Verhoeven, 37, the Dutch kickboxer who faced Oleksandr Usyk for the WBC heavyweight title in Egypt on May 23. Underdog Verhoeven was eventually stopped in the 11th round but troubled Usyk throughout.

Hrgovic is open to a showdown with Verhoeven (1-1, 1 KO) and even suggested that the fight could take place on the undercard of the mooted event topped by Fury and Joshua, which is headed for Cardiff in December.

When asked whether he will be ringside to watch Fury-Joshua, Hrgovic said: “I don’t know, maybe I’ll fight on the undercard. There were some rumors that Turki wants me to fight this guy Rico Verhoeven on that undercard. I heard some rumors about that so maybe I’ll fight on the undercard. Of course I’d like that, I’m in if we can make a good deal.

“It’s a little bit soon. I’d need to go to camp soon but if we can make a good deal maybe I can do that.”
