Fast-rising super middleweight contender Jacob Bank took the next step in his evolution, impressively dismissing former IBF titlist William Scull in the 12th round of their January 31 meeting.
"I'm really happy and extremely proud of my performance, but I know there's so much more in me," Bank (18-0, 10 KOs) told The Ring.
"It was incredible, not just for me, but to be able to give something back to the amazing fans here in Kolding. My home crowd is crazy — the best in the country.
"I went in knowing I was facing a man who had just lost his world title to one of the greatest boxers ever."
That the 24-year-old closed the show so strongly bodes well for the future.
"I was fully prepared and in peak condition," he said. "Honestly, I could have gone another 12 rounds without breaking a sweat.
"I was close [to stopping him] in the sixth round, and if I'd had just five more seconds, I would have finished him right there."

Many top fighters save their best performance for their biggest night, and it is fair to say that was the case for the Danish fighter.
However, he feels this is just the tip of the iceberg and expects to continue to impress on his way up.
"I'm excited to show the rest of the top fighters in this weight class who's really the strongest," he said. "I’m ready to take on all of them. Their promoters all have the info and numbers for Primetime Boxing or Spencer Brown — so let's get ready to make some big fights happen after the summer."
Primetime Boxing promoter Kasper Holgersen felt Bank put the division on notice.
"Jacob lived up to what we had hoped for, and also expected, with the victory. But I have to admit that the way he exposed William Scull was beyond anything I dared to dream of.
"We have always known that we have a future world star in Jacob in this weight class, and a future world champion once the others dare to face him."
Meanwhile, Bank is disappointed that when Diego Pacheco pulled out of a fight with Hamzah Sheeraz for the vacant WBO title that he didn't get his chance.
Instead, little unknown Alem Begic (29-0-1, 23 KOs) will get the shot.
"I got cheated for my title shot this time," he said. "So now I'm going after something else, and I know Hamzah Sheeraz is ready to face me so we will make it happen in the future. I'm ready. It's really up to him and his promoter to be ready."

In the meantime, Holgersen will not let his fighter wait around and intends to keep Bank active.
"We will fight again within the next three months, and it will be announced soon," he said. "We were ready to fight Sheeraz, but after the Scull fight, his promotion and the WBO suddenly found a way to avoid it. Let's be honest, they're scared.
"We'll keep doing what we do best: winning, dominating, and taking out whoever they put in front of Jacob. In the end, they won't be able to run anymore. They'll have to face him. When that time comes, we don't care where it happens. Denmark is ready any time."
