Jordan Flynn has linked up with Hall of Fame trainer Buddy McGirt as he bids to get his career back on track.
The 29-year-old suffered the first defeat of his career in March when bitter rival Cameron Vuong stopped him inside seven rounds at Planet Ice in Altrincham.
It brought an emphatic end to their long-running feud and left the Oxford man on (11-1-1, 1 KO).
Now Flynn has announced that he has decided to move to America in order to join forces with McGirt in Florida.
Flynn wrote on X: “Honoured to start this journey with Buddy McGirt in my corner. Time to take things to another level.”
The lightweight has already spent time working with Kevin Mitchell and Grant Smith during his five and a half years as a pro. Most recently he has been training at the Panthers Gym on the south coast but he will now join a long list of British fighters to put their faith in 61-year-old McGirt.
The likes of Dillian Whyte and Dan Azeez have also spent time training with the former super-lightweight and welterweight world champion over the past few years while he most recently inspired his current charge Callum Smith to a superb victory over Joshua Buatsi in February.
Flynn is expected to return to the ring in the summer as he plots a path back towards title contention.
