But Ajagba (21-1-1, 15 KOs) has been stuck outside of the glamor division's picture ever since he scored a fourth-round stoppage against Charles Martin in February.

"I'm looking for an opponent, but nobody wants to fight me or even call me out," Ajagba told The Ring. "They're avoiding me and running around scared. Nobody wants to take risks anymore. It's been very hard finding someone to face me. I'm calling everyone out, but no one is answering or saying my name. I'm a man. I'm here. I'm a fighter. I just want to fight the top guys."

Ajagba finds himself in a holding pattern because there is a bottleneck of meaningful matches that need to cross the finish line before he can make a move.

Oleksandr Usyk-Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois-Fabio Wardley 2, Filip Hrgovic-Frank Sanchez and Murat Gassiev-Jarrell Miller are all fights that still need to unfold so the 32-year-old Nigerian can see how he fits in the mix.

WBC champion Agit Kabayel, Moses Itauma, Andy Ruiz, Damien Knyba, Jared Anderson, David Adeleye, Lawrence Okolie, Tony Yoka and Zhilei Zhang headline a group of heavies who also need to make their next move in the not-too-distant future.

"I'm ready for anyone in the top 10," Ajagba said. "I would love a rematch against Martin Bakole, or a fight against Joseph Parker. But it looks like Bakole doesn't want to fight."

Ajagba and Bakole fought to a majority draw in May 2025 in a bout many believe the former won; Bakole hasn't fought since.

Ajagba's best option for an opponent may emerge within the Zuffa universe once the recently signed Johnny Fisher takes on Michael Pirotton September 26.

But Ajagba isn't bullish on the idea eventually being executed.

"Johnny Fisher won't take the chance to fight," he said. "I busted his nose before in sparring in the second round, and he quit and never showed up again. I don't think he would take the chance to fight me. He couldn't take my pressure in sparring. How is he going to want to take it in a real fight?"
