Floyd Mayweather Jr. is being sued for an alleged unpaid private jet arrangement.
Several reports indicate that Jet Set Aircraft Inc. has filed a complaint seeking more than $105,000 from Mayweather and other co-defendants for an outstanding balance on a charter flight to Turks and Caicos in September. The complaint alleges that promises were made to pay for the services, but assurances were never met.
The lawsuit is the latest legal issue Mayweather is facing.
It was revealed Thursday that the IRS filed a $7.3 million lien against Mayweather for unpaid taxes in 2018 and 2023. In February, Mayweather was sued for a pair of separate matters – one for alleged unpaid rent totaling $330,000 for a luxury apartment in Manhattan, New York, and another for an unpaid jewelry tab in Miami totaling $1.4 million.
Reversing roles from defendant to plaintiff, Mayweather sued former broadcast partner Showtime in February to recover $340 million in allegedly misappropriated funds.
The series of issues has surfaced amid ongoing reports that Mayweather is in financial trouble despite earning an estimated $1.15 billion during his Hall-of-Fame career.
Mayweather, 49, announced in February that he’d return to fight professionally after a nine-year retirement. The undefeated five-division champion is supposed to face Manny Pacquiao in a rematch Netflix has announced it will stream September 19 from Sphere in Las Vegas.
Mayweather cast doubt on the bout last month, however, by labeling it an exhibition without a location, much to the dismay of event organizers, who are now working behind the scenes to reach a resolution before a Tuesday deadline after Mayweather and Pacquiao both received their shares of advance payments.
