Mizuki Hiruta completed her 2025 campaign with a shutout points win against Gloria Gallardo in defense of her WBO and Ring junior bantamweight titles Saturday night.

Hiruta (10-0, 2 KOs) quickly got into rhythm and refused to give Gallardo many openings for success in a contest largely fought at distance during their main event matchup at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California.

Two hours after Ring and unified 115-pound champion Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez painted a violent masterpiece en route to a 10th-round stoppage win over Fernando Daniel Martinez in Saudi Arabia, his female counterpart gave a similar performance, albeit with 100-90 unanimous scores rather than a finish.

Hiruta wobbled the Mexican behind her left hand late in the fifth, while her consistent punch connects were showing on the 31-year-old's face through seven rounds as she was bloodied and increasingly weary.

Although unable to secure the exclamation mark on her performance that a late stoppage would've earned, she willingly engaged in the pocket and stung a two-time title challenger with flurries in the final seconds of another straightforward win.

Manny Robles-trained Hiruta has notched half a dozen WBO title defenses, two of her Ring crown and will no doubt target unifications in the new year – or move up in weight entirely – with fewer bona fide challengers after an active campaign.

Only one, rising contender LeAnna Cruz (11-0, 1 KO), raised their hand in a congratulatory message on social media as she targets a big 2026. There's been no word about former unified flyweight champion Marlen Esparza eight months after defeat by Yokasta Valle.

Adelaida Maria Ruiz will face Gabriela Fundora's recently defeated opponent Alexas Kubicki for the vacant WBC strap on November 29, WBA ruler Jasmine Artiga is slated to return on December 13. and Irma Garcia has been ordered to defend her IBF title vs. Britain's Emma Dolan.
