LOS ANGELES – Manny Pacquiao isn’t pulling any punches ahead of his planned rematch against Floyd Mayweather.
As the pair of all-time greats prepare for their September 19 fight with back-and-forth verbal jabs, Pacquiao has opened a gym in the heart of Hollywood in a space that previously featured Mayweather’s name and likeness.
The move was orchestrated by Jas Mathur, the CEO of Pacquiao’s promotional company and a former Mayweather business associate-turned-rival.
Mathur pulled off the masterstroke of gamesmanship once he learned the since-shuttered Mayweather Boxing + Fitness location’s franchise owner decided not to renew their lease.
Now, sitting steps away from the iconic tourist attraction near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue is the Pacquiao Prime Boxing club.

The gym is located a few streets away from Pacquiao’s two-decade-long home in the Wild Card Boxing Club, owned by Freddie Roach, and it will be the new home for Pacquiao moving forward as he trains to face Mayweather in their rematch at Sphere in Las Vegas.
“This is not an emotional decision, it’s a business decision,” Mathur told The Ring. “We're not looking at anything Mayweather Boxing + Fitness did. We have our own model, and it's the first of many Pacquiao Prime Boxing locations we want to open. It's the first step in a much bigger plan that we have.
“It was cool that this space had the Mayweather name on it and whatnot, but we did it more for the location. It's in a very visible, high-traffic and landmark area for what we want to accomplish moving forward. We envision many professional fighters, athletes, celebrities and top trainers wanting to be here.”
In the meantime, Mathur and the team have some work to do by stripping all of Mayweather’s images and branding from the gym, including Mayweather’s catchphrase “Hard Work, Dedication.”
But before doing so, Pacquiao couldn’t resist a proper photo-op pictured next to his rival.

Mathur previously had a working relationship with Mayweather through his company, Limitless X Holdings, and the Limitless brand also appears on the gym’s marquee, which, for now, is a printed banner.
The project is also a passionate one for Mathur, whose shredded physique suggests he seemingly lives in a gym. Mathur has documented his physical transformation throughout the years, which includes losing nearly 250 pounds.
Mathur is also leveraging the 47-year-old Pacquiao's return to the main stage by orchestrating a variety of business moves, banking on the Hall of Fame fighter’s global star power.
Pacquiao and Mathur announced a partnership last week with Team Boxing League (TBL) that made Pacquiao a franchise owner of the San Diego TJ’s. Mathur described the deal as a nine-figure platform play focused on ownership, participation, and long-term upside.
“We're building different businesses and brands to strategically position Manny for more generational wealth once he's done fighting,” said Mathur.
