Manny Pacquiao is the greatest Filipino athlete of all time, so it was only appropriate for the living legend to be seated courtside Friday in New York as the Knicks held Filipino Heritage Night at Madison Square Garden.
During the first quarter of their game against the Toronto Raptors, Pacquiao was featured on the jumbotron and the crowd responded with a resounding round of applause.
Filipino-American Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson also stopped by to pay his respects to Pacquiao, while boxing super fan and Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns was seen chopping it up with Pacquiao in the locker room after their 112-95 win.
On Tuesday, Pacquiao threw the ceremonial first pitch at the New York Yankees game.
Although the 47-year-old Pacquiao has accomplished a laundry list of accolades throughout his Hall of Fame career, he’s missing one particular feather in his cap – fighting in New York.
Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) is next scheduled to face Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) in a rematch on September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
