It's safe to say that Mario Barrios has a few fans, having been around the sport long enough and fought several well-recognized names along the way.

There's one person however, who isn't a supporter of his at all.

"Mario Barrios sucks," Paulie Malignaggi said in a self-recorded video that was posted on his YouTube channel Paulie TV. "He sucks, just a horrible, horrible champion. Might be the worst champion I've ever seen in my life."

Malignaggi has always felt this way about the WBC welterweight world champion. Last Saturday night's performance and result solidified Barrios' standing in his mind.

Arbitrarily, a 46-year-old Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) ended a near four-year retirement when challenging Barrios for his world championship. It marked Pacquiao's 16th appearance at Las Vegas' MGM Grand, the most by any boxer at that particular venue.

The Filipino legend sought to become the oldest fighter to win a 147-pound title on his Amazon Prime pay-per-view debut, though the three judges ringside were undecided and their 12-round matchup was ruled a majority decision draw.

Once the dust settled and the judges read their scorecards, Malignaggi was in disbelief. He wasn't sure what to expect from Pacquiao but after watching him outwork a much younger champion, believes the recently-inducted Hall of Famer should've got the nod.

"I thought Manny won the fight," Malignaggi continued. "I thought Pacquiao got robbed."

If you're expecting the former eight-division champ to walk off into the sunset once more, think again. Although he didn’t get the results he was looking for, Pacquiao revealed that he's here to stay and a Barrios rematch is unsurprisingly among his options to pursue.

Expected to return either in the final quarter of 2025 or early 2026 after a period of rest and recovery, Malignaggi is looking forward to the next chapter for Pacquiao. Barrios meanwhile, has now drawn consecutive title defences and the former IBF junior welterweight champion believes he's now seen enough to know what type of fighter he is and always will be.
