Lamont Roach will face William Zepeda for the vacant championship in the main event of the second rendition of “The Fight” series on DAZN and TNT at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

Shakur Stevenson was stripped of his WBC 135-pound title in February after refusing to pay the $120,000 sanctioning fee for a 140-pound title fight, in which a WBC belt wasn’t on the line.

Stevenson, The Ring’s No. 3 pound-for-pound fighter, beat Teofimo Lopez by unanimous decision to win The Ring and WBO 140-pound titles on January 31.

Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) wanted to keep the WBC lightweight crown, maintaining the flexibility to make title defenses against two weight divisions.

Roach (25-1-3, 10 KOs), of Washington, D.C., is coming off consecutive majority draws, including against then-WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in March 2025.

Roach, a former 130-pound world titleholder, would have won a decision against Davis had referee Steve Willis appropriately ruled the latter taking a knee in the ninth round as a knockdown.

The 30-year-old last fought on December 6 against Isaac Cruz at junior welterweight.

Zepeda (33-1, 27 KOs), of San Mateo Atenco, México, fell short in his bid for a world title, losing a unanimous decision to Stevenson last July. The relentless 30-year-old southpaw is The Ring’s No. 3 lightweight contender.
