Garcia was to kick off fight week festivities Tuesday in Las Vegas with a face-off against Conor Benn at a rooftop deck at Mandalay Bay, setting up a scenic shot overlooking The Strip before Saturday's fight at T-Mobile Arena.

Instead, WBC welterweight champion Garcia apparently had no intention of working on his promotional obligations and intentionally bailed on the scheduled event.

"Nice relaxing time as Conor wastes time showing up to a face-off," Garcia posted on social media with a photo of him kicking up his leg and playing video games. "Back to the sauna you go – sausage getting cooked every which way."

Benn's father Nigel tried to make light of a sour situation by facing off with his son instead.

"Guys, I apologize for Ryan doing what Ryan does and bottling it," Conor Benn said. "We turned up, we're here. He needs to get his s*** together because come Saturday, he's in for a real, big shock."

A faceoff featuring the co-main event fight between cruiserweight titleholders Jai Opetaia and Noel Mikaelian was executed, but that matchup faced its own set of issues earlier in the day.

Mikaelian's promoter Don King issued a cease-and-desist letter looking to scrap the fight though hours later, Zuffa Boxing head Dana White said it will be moving forward as planned.

"This sport is the most unsophisticated I have ever seen," White said. "It's f***** up for a reason. I've always had good dealings with Don. Have you ever seen a scenario with us where we try to interfere with somebody's contract? We don't do it."

Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) vs. Benn (25-1, 14 KOs) will headline a four-fight main card streamed on Paramount+ in the US and DAZN across the UK and Ireland beginning at 8 p.m. (5 p.m. PT) in the U.S. and 1 a.m. BST Sunday.
