Taduran (20-4-1, 14 KOs) and Moreno (16-0, 5 KOs), the IBF's No. 4-rated contender, will meet in the Philippines.

One source suggested it will be in the country's capital, Manila, though at the time of writing that remains unconfirmed.

Taduran had targeted a unification with Ring, WBA and WBO ruler Oscar Collazo though his team didn't expect it to happen.

Instead, The Ring's No. 10 pound-for-pound boxer elected to remain at flyweight after his last appearance, where it was announced earlier this week he will face Ricardo Sandoval for the WBA and WBC titles on October 10.

That left Taduran seeking an opponent and his team were able to broker a deal with the Spaniard's team. Taduran, The Ring's No. 1 contender at 105 pounds, turned professional at 18 before capturing Filipino national honors.

He made an ambitious attempt at the vastly more experienced Wanheng Menayothin, losing a 12-round decision for the WBC title in August 2018. After beating unheralded opposition four months later, he climbed off the canvas to stop previously-unbeaten compatriot Samuel Salva after four completed rounds, winning the vacant IBF crown.

The heavy-handed 29-year-old made one defense before being outpointed to lose the title, then failing in attempts at immediate revenge during a two-fight series with Rene Mark Cuarto.

The Filipino scored a ninth-round stoppage of Ginjiro Shigeoka to reclaim the IBF strap, edging a 12-round split decision in their May 2025 rematch. The Japanese fighter suffered a brain bleed and remained in hospital for almost a year, before being discharged to his family in late March.

Taduran has since made two title defenses, most recently a seventh-round stoppage of Gustavo Perez on April 3 in an impressive U.S. debut.

Moreno meanwhile, has been a professional since May 2019.

On his way up, he went on to claim the Spanish national title and a regional belt with the WBC. The 33-year-old has fought exclusively at home and this assignment marks a considerable step-up in class.
