The picture painted a thousand words when the result of October’s initial clash between Nathaniel Collins and Cristobal Llorente was announced.
As Queensberry MC Thomas Treiber delivered the final scorecard of 114-114, confirming a split draw after 12 hellacious rounds, both men reacted very differently.
For Llorente, the underdog from Spain, a draw away from home meant he retained his European title and he stuck his tongue out in celebration before embracing his opponent. But, for Collins, the result meant pure dejection. “It’s as bad as a loss for me,” he said.
Collins, the home favourite at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena, had been tipped to find a way past the 30-year-old from Barcelona to claim the European belt and set up a shot at the world title in 2026. It started well, too, with Collins working himself into an early lead before a spirited effort down the stretch from Llorente earned him a draw.
Now, six months on, the pair will run it back at the much larger OVO Hydro five miles east of Braehead. With Collins at No. 1 and Llorente No. 2 with the WBC, this rematch will serve as a final eliminator for their featherweight title, currently held by Bruce Carrington.

They said it

Nathaniel Collins: “I still feel like I’m much better than this guy. It shouldn’t have ever been that close because this guy is not in my league. For him to be as close to beating me as a draw, is almost as bad as a loss. I can’t bring myself to watch the whole fight back because the clips I’ve seen don't even look like me. That’s not how I box and I’m determined to put it right this time.
Cristobal Llorente: “In the first fight, I had a lot of respect for them, but now he has the respect for me. The first match was incredible and the people of Glasgow need a second part. This is the 13th round for me because it's the round I didn't have in the other fight. I'm better than him because I have a bigger heart than him.”
What are the odds?
Despite such a close fight first time around, Llorente has still been made a clear underdog for this rematch. Most Bookmakers have him at around 12/5 (+240) while Collins is available at 4/9 (-225). A second successive draw has been priced at 16/1 (+1600).
Must-see on the undercard?
Queensberry have provided a stacked undercard at the Hydro with no fewer than 10 fights below the main event. The pick of those are the two British title fights at junior lightweight and junior featherweight. In the battle of undefeated 122-pounders, Dylan Arbuckle meets Nico Leivars while Royston Barney-Smith, one of Britain’s very best prospects, faces Conor McIntosh for the vacant British and Commonwealth belts at 130 pounds.
Location
OVO Hydro, Glasgow.
How can I watch it?
The whole show will be streamed live on DAZN from 7 p.m. BST.
