Thorslund (25-0, 9 KOs) entered the bout with The Ring crown, while Johnson (19-3, 8 KOs) held the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO titles. Their bout headlined MVPW-05 at Caribe Royale on ESPN. All three judges scored it 100-90 for Thorslund, The Ring’s No. 7 pound-for-pound fighter and becoming undisputed champion caps a tumultuous 13-month spell for the Dane.

She previously held the WBC and WBO belts and was originally scheduled for a unification bout against then-IBF champion Shurreta Metcalf in July 2025. Withdrawing upon learning she was pregnant, she relinquished the WBO title and was named the WBC's 'champion in recess' in acknowledgement.

Johnson, 31, who held the WBA title at the time, replaced Thorslund and stopped Metcalf in the ninth round to win the IBF title and the vacant WBC and WBO belts.

Thorslund had a miscarriage last July and late last month, her friend and former featherweight title challenger Raven Chapman suffered a serious brain injury during a sparring session, from which she's recovering.

After a career-best victory, the 32-year-old said she'd bring all of her titles to Chapman in hospital.

Thorslund set the tone early, pressing the action and having success pushing Johnson back and punching through her guard. When Johnson tried to let her hands go or exchange with Thorslund, she struggled to find the target.

Johnson began to push forward as she sensed the fight slipping away. She had her moments but was never able to sustain any offense nor land anything meaningful to turn the tide, ending her four-fight win streak in the process.
