Scotney (12-0) claimed the final piece of the puzzle when she won the WBA belt via a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Mayelli Flores at London’s Olympia on Easter Sunday.

Now that the mission is complete, the 28-year-old from Catford, London has no intention of sticking around at the 122-pound limit. Instead, she will bid to become a two-weight world champion by heading north to featherweight.

Ring champion Scotney even revealed that she was forced to cut some of her hair off in order to make weight ahead of the Flores fight.

“I’ve given four years to 122lbs. Blood, sweat, tears … and yeah, even my hair in the final cut,” she wrote on Instagram.

“But I stayed because I had one mission: leave with every belt. One by one, champion to champion, no vacants … no favours.

“I’ve always said that integrity is everything and I’d like to think I held onto that through it all.

“Thank you to my family, team and Most Valuable Promotions. So many of you have played a part in this moment.”

Now Scotney will head to featherweight, where Ring champion Amanda Serrano holds the WBA and WBO titles. Tiara Brown is the WBC champion while Nina Meinke has held the IBF belt since September 2024.

There is every chance that Scotney could receive a shot at a world title belt in her first fight in the division given that she has moved up as undisputed champion.

“All glory to the Lord as I step into this next chapter,” she added. “126lbs awaits.”
