Zuffa Boxing announced the signing of a second significant cruiserweight this week with the addition of Ryan Rozicki to its roster on Thursday.
The announcement arrives after Zuffa’s Monday signing of former WBO titleholder Chris Billam-Smith, as the upstart company seeks to build a division of contenders to potentially challenge The Ring and Zuffa champion Jai Opetaia, who made his Zuffa debut last month with a unanimous decision win against Brandon Glanton.
“I’m excited for this next chapter and the opportunity to be part of what Zuffa is building,” Rozicki said in a statement in regard to his multi-fight deal.
“My team has done an incredible job getting me to this point and making sure everything is in place for me to succeed at the highest level. This is a big platform, and I’m ready to get to work and make a statement.”
Rozicki (21-1-1, 20 KOs) is a 31-year-old, 10-year pro from Nova Scotia who's never fought outside of Canada despite his impressive power punching skills and high knockout ratio.
The Ring’s No. 5-ranked cruiserweight is coming off an injury-riddled 2025 campaign.
Rozicki was supposed to face then WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack last May but pulled out of the fight three weeks prior due to a torn biceps. Rozicki aggravated the injury again before an October fight and was forced to the sidelines once again before returning in March to stop Gerardo Mellado inside two rounds.
Rozicki is unbeaten over his last nine fights ever since suffering the lone loss of his career at heavyweight against Oscar Rivas in 2021.
