The stakes couldn’t be much higher for Hamzah Sheeraz and Chris Eubank Jr. in their upcoming fights.

Turki Alalshikh revealed that Sheeraz or Eubank could step into the ring against undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in 2026 during a roundtable conversation with The Ring's Mike Coppinger and Rick Reeno.

"It's going to be against one of the two options, Sheeraz or Eubank," Alalshikh said on who Alvarez could face after his fight vs Crawford.

There are more than a few moving parts, though, before a potential bout for Sheeraz or Eubank vs. Canelo.

First, Sheeraz must get past Edgar Berlanga on July 12 in the headliner of The Ring’s “Ring III” pay-per-view show at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, in a WBC super middleweight title eliminator on DAZN Pay-Per-View. The fight is the first for Sheeraz (21-0-1, 17 KOs) at super middleweight and first with former middleweight champion Andy Lee as his trainer.

Sheeraz is coming off a split draw against WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames on Feb. 22 in a fight that many believed he'd lost. Alalshikh also said that a win for Berlanga also would land him in a big fight. Berlanga (23-1, 18 KOs), who is coming off a first-round knockout of Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz on March 15, only lost last year to Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs).

“Berlanga has a great chance to come back and have a very big fight with us,” Alalshikh said.

Then, Canelo has to get past Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) in a fight being billed as “There Can Only Be One,” as the pound-for-pound best fighters of this era will square off on Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Canelo’s undisputed super middleweight and Ring titles will be on the line.

Alalshikh also revealed that Eubank will rematch Conor Benn in the last week of September or the first week of October at either Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom.

Eubank (35-3, 25 KOs) defeated Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) by unanimous decision on April 26 in a Fight of the Year contender.

There’s a lot on the line for all three fighters. Canelo is fighting to cement his legacy and his place as the best fighter of this era when he faces Crawford, while Sheeraz and Eubank Jr. are expected to be in barnburners in their upcoming fights.

Now, with the news from Alalshikh, Sheeraz and Eubank will be competing against more than just Berlanga and Benn, respectively. They’ll be competing against each other as they seek to earn a fight against Canelo next year.
