The ghost of Tyson Fury still looms over Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder’s fight on Saturday.
Chisora is at peace after losing his three fights against the former Ring and WBC heavyweight champion. The same can’t be said for Wilder.
To this day, Wilder contends Fury cheated across their three fights and has blown up on multiple occasions at him being brought up, including in the build-up to his bout versus Chisora at O2 Arena in London on DAZN PPV. Chisora took aim at how Wilder has handled the aftermath of his bouts against Fury, who faces Arslanbek Makhmudov a week later in London on Netflix.

“I think Tyson gave Deontay PTSD,” Chisora said on Inside The Ring on Monday. “In London, we tried to speak about Tyson and he went nuts on [Talksport host] Simon Jordan. We tried to speak about Tyson today with Piers Morgan, and he went nuts as well. Tyson has given him PTSD.
“He’s very sensitive. He’s in a dark place right now.”
Fury beat Chisora once by unanimous decision and twice by stoppage. After a split draw in their first fight, Fury stopped Wilder twice, with the latter being a back-and-forth war where both fighters were dropped multiple times.
Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs), 42, enters on a three-fight win streak. He last fought in February of last year and beat Otto Wallin by unanimous decision.
Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs), a former WBC heavyweight champion who defended the title 10 times, got back into the win column with his seventh-round stoppage of Tyrrell Herndon in June. The 40-year-old from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, had lost four of his last five fights before Herndon.
Chisora has maintained that he and Wilder will remain friends regardless of the result Saturday. That friendship won’t stand in Chisora's way as he looks to end his career on a high note in what he claims will be his 50th and final fight.
“I’m going to smash him,” he said. “I’m coming for him. It's all love, but when that bell goes off, I need to get to him. If I give him space, it'll be a long night for me. I have to get to him and smash him up.”
