After beating Xander Zayas via seventh-round stoppage for his WBA and WBO junior middleweight titles on June 27, Ennis believes he's being viewed in a different light.

Ennis dropped the Puerto Rican three times and mostly dominated, but was rocked himself in the third round. There are other contenders in the division for the Philadelphian to get his hands on, however, such as The Ring's No. 2 Vergil Ortiz, or sixth-ranked Josh Kelly, who holds the IBF title.

But Ennis believes a win over Sebastian Fundora, WBC champion and The Ring's No. 3 154-pounder who stands almost 6-foot-6, would resonate with spectators and pundits the most.

“That’s one of the fights that’s gonna stamp me,” Ennis told YSM Sports Media. “That’s the fight that everybody wants to see.”

“I've boxed with people that were 6-foot-7, that were heavyweights. I’m really different. He can’t do nothing with me."

Fundora has said on numerous occasions that he would love a matchup with Ennis as well. First, he has to defend his title against mandatory challenger Ermal Hadribeaj on October 17 at Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

It's also likely that Ennis faces Kelly next.

As previously reported by The Ring, the sides are inching closer to an end-of-year unification bout. Kelly grabbed an upset win over Bakhram Murtazaliev on January 31 to win his first title. He defended that belt against Caoimhin Agyarko on July 25.

“I’m not looking past Josh,” Ennis said. “Josh is a great fighter. He can box, move, slick, got a sharp IQ. I’m not looking past anybody. When we lock in a date, I’m not answering any questions on Fundora.”
