The future looks bright for three of British boxing’s most famous families following the European Under-15 Championships in Trabzon, Turkey.
Shane Fury Jr., nephew of two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson, clinched gold for England at 70kg (154 pounds) while Solomon Dubois and Lola Hatton also returned from Turkey with medals.
Dubois, one of world champion pair Daniel and Caroline’s younger brothers, won silver in the 60kg (132 pounds) category while Hatton, daughter of Matthew and niece of Ricky, took home the bronze at 60kg in only her second season as a competitive boxer.
Fury received a bye into the quarter-final where he edged Ukraine’s Bohdan Moroz on a split. He then surged past Dan Florea of Moldova with a unanimous decision in the semis before a difficult clash with Azerbaijan’s Sarkhan Hakverdiyev.
But Fury got the nod in the final to clinch gold medal for his family. In response, his famous uncle posted on Instagram: "He deserves it, he's dedicated, he puts his life and soul into this sport. He is the only person who I know who doesn't care about anything else. He is 100 per cent on his boxing, and he's a lovely kid, as well.
"Wait until you get to see Shane Fury Jr. and wait until you are introduced to the real Shane Fury Jr. over the years. Next gen – let's go."
Dubois booked his place in the semi-final with two straight unanimous decisions before a 4-1 split against Azerbaijan’s Sunay Azimov in the last four. However, he had to settle for silver after losing to Russia’s Mikhail Novikov.
It was a similar story for Hatton in the semi as she was beaten by Russia's Kristina Okhlopkova on a split decision.
