Given his ring nickname contains the very town where Barry Hearn first set up his hugely successful promotional business in 1982, it seemed like “The Romford Bull” might never seek pastures new.

But after 15 fights with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom, the 27-year-old kicks off the next phase of his career against Michael Pirotton over 10 rounds under the Zuffa banner at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday night.

Dana White caused an almighty stir when he persuaded Conor Benn to turn his back on his former promoter with a megabucks deal earlier this year. The fallout of Fisher’s switch has been far less severe and he was not such a high-ticket item for Zuffa. However, he's still one of the biggest ticket-sellers in the country and Zuffa now hopes it can harness that following as Fisher attempts to climb back up the heavyweight ladder.

Pirotton (12-2, 6 KOs) has been brought in as the opponent, but the 6-foot-5 Belgian knows that a victory over Fisher (14-1, 12 KOs), in the home favorite’s first fight at Copper Box since he was knocked out by Dave Allen there last year, will transform his career entirely.

Fisher: “People are talking about what’s to come down the road, but for me I just have to fight Michael Pirotton and get the win. If I do that, more opportunities open up, but for me it’s only about this fight. I have looked too far ahead before and that’s when things go wrong. I won’t get caught up in ifs, buts and maybes. I only deal in absolutes.”

Pirotton: “This is the type of night we train all our lives for. This type of opportunity I’m here to grab with both of my hands. The pressure is more on him. I’m a nobody. That’s maybe what people will say, but after the night I might be the one to knock out the Romford Bull. The pressure is more on his shoulders. He’s the star. It’s more comfortable to be able to enjoy the night and give my best. What will happen, will happen.”

Fisher is the overwhelming favorite to win. Some oddsmakers are pricing him as wide as 1/14 (-1400), which means an implied probability of a Fisher win sits above 93%. Rank outsider Pirotton, who has lost twice before but never been stopped, is widely priced out at 7/1 (+700).

At middleweight, Lee Cutler (16-2, 8 KOs) and Louis Greene (19-4, 12 KOs) will meet over 10 rounds in a fight which almost guarantees action given that both are most comfortable on the front foot.

Meanwhile, at light heavyweight, Craig Richards (20-4-1, 13 KOs) and Radivoje "Hot Rod" Kalajdzic (30-3, 22 KOs), both of whom still have designs on challenging for a world title again, square off in a 10-rounder which could have significant ramifications for the division.
