It's all systems go for Saturday's "Glory in Giza" card from the iconic Pyramids of Giza in Egypt after all 10 main event boxers weighed in on Friday morning.
The big news is that Oleksandr Usyk has tipped the scales at a career-heaviest 233.3 pounds, perhaps to counter the unpredictable nature awaiting him as Rico Verhoeven still outweighs him by 25 pounds at 258.7lbs.
The Ukrainian (24-0, 15 KOs) comes into the contest six pounds heavier than his fifth-round knockout win over Daniel Dubois last July, silencing doubters to deliver an emphatic display at Wembley and claim undisputed status for a third time across two weight divisions.
Peter Fury-trained Verhoeven (1-0, 1 KO) enters their encounter seven pounds more trim than his last kickboxing outing, where he outpointed Artem Vakhitov at 265 pounds to defend his GLORY heavyweight belt last June.
There was no weight-related hiccups across the main card, either.
Hamzah Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 KOs) weighed a pound heavier than Alem Begic (29-0-1, 23 KOs) before their vacant WBO super middleweight title clash, while British compatriot Jack Catterall was similarly bigger at welterweight with Shakhram Giyasov the assignment for WBA 'regular' championship.
After two previous appearances in the 147-pound division, former 140-pound title challenger Catterall (32-2, 14 KOs) has settled at the weight and will look to deliver a career-best win against unbeaten Giyasov (17-0, 10 KOs), who ends a 13-month layoff here, keen to make up for lost time chasing a fight with Rolando "Rolly" Romero.
It remains to be seen what version we see of Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs), though he weighed in at 240.4lbs, 15 months after stopping Mexican journeyman Ramon Olivas Echeverria on his last outing.
He previously weighed in at 238lbs for his two Riyadh Season shows against Junior Fa (TKO7) and current WBC interim beltholder Agit Kabayel, who stopped a visibly compromised Sanchez in May 2024.
He underwent surgery on his right knee the following month, though suffered a recurring inflammatory flare-up in that same knee causing their original March 28 date as part of the Fundora-Thurman undercard to be shelved.
Richard Torrez pointed to Kabayel's win as a blueprint for success himself and the Olympic silver medalist tipped the scales at 229.5 pounds, a quarter of a pound heavier than his career-best win over Guido Vianello last April.
While the impressive American (14-0, 12 KOs) has been calling for big matchups to truly test his mettle, he heads into this weekend knowing victory will set him up for a mandated shot at Usyk once the IBF is next in rotation.
Elsewhere on the main card, Ring and long-reigning WBO junior bantamweight titleholder Mizuki Hiruta (10-0, 2 KOs) has been dominating without fuss and hunting unification bouts at 115 pounds.
The talented Tokyo resident, The Ring's 2025 Fighter of the Year, couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a seventh defense of her sanctioning body strap on hallowed turf against Egyptian-born Mai Soliman.
Hiruta was a quarter-of-a-pound heavier than her shutout win over Gloria Gallardo in November, while the challenger weighed in a pound lighter than her seventh-round stoppage win over Jasmine Parr in Australia two weeks earlier that same month.
The weights in full are as follows:
RING, WBC, WBA, IBF heavyweight titles, 12 rounds
- Oleksandr Usyk, 233.3 pounds
- Rico Verhoeven, 258.7 pounds
WBO super middleweight title, 12 rounds
